Frequently asked questions
I do not know the Cyrillic alphabet. Is this realistic?
Yes. The complete-beginner track is built exactly for that — you start with very simple words and phrases, and the alphabet settles in naturally within days.
How long does it take to reach a B1 level?
On average 6 to 9 months at 15-20 minutes a day. But consistency matters far more than total time.
Is it really free?
Yes. You can learn as a guest without even creating an account. The free version includes your personal dictionary, SRS flashcards, the games and the full catalogue of materials. A Premium subscription exists for advanced features, but it is not required to make progress.
Do I need to be good at grammar?
No. Grammar is learned through exposure: you see cases in context and, over time, recognise them without thinking. Explanations are one click away on every word.
Can I learn on mobile?
Yes, the app works on mobile web. Learn on the train, in a waiting room, anywhere.
