Former le futur simple

The futur simple is formed with the infinitive + the endings -ai, -as, -a, -ons, -ez, -ont (which look like the verb avoir). For -re verbs, drop the final -e.

💡⚠️ Irregular stems (to memorise)

A few very frequent verbs have a special future stem but keep the same endings: être → ser- (je serai), avoir → aur- (j’aurai), aller → ir- (j’irai), faire → fer- (je ferai), venir → viendr-, pouvoir → pourr-, vouloir → voudr-, devoir → devr-, voir → verr-.
