Les mots interrogatifs
An open question asks for information (not just yes/no). You use a question word. As with yes/no questions, there are three registers (intonation, est-ce que, inversion).

💡💡 Three registers, and « quel » agrees
You can say (informal) Tu vas où ?, (standard) Où est-ce que tu vas ?, (formal) Où vas-tu ? The word quel is an adjective: it agrees with the noun (quel, quelle, quels, quelles). You answer pourquoi with parce que.
