💡⚠️ Reading and gender of initialisms
Some initialisms are read letter by letter (МГУ = эм-гэ-у), others as words (вуз, НАТО). Graphic abbreviations (и т.д., т.е.) are used only in writing: when speaking, you say the full word. The gender of an initialism follows the head noun: МГУ is masculine (университе́т).
