The verb is imposed by the noun

Мы при́няли реше́ние. (We made a decision.)

Э́то не игра́ет ро́ли. (This plays no role.)

💡⚠️ Learn the verb and the noun together

Collocations pair a specific verb with a noun: принять реше́ние (not « сделать реше́ние »), оказать по́мощь, уделять внима́ние. The wrong verb sounds off. Idioms, on the other hand, are never translated word for word.
