Prefixed verbs of motion
по-, при-, у-, в-, вы-, до-: changing direction with a prefix
⚡Key points
по-→to set off: пойти (я пойду́)
при-→to arrive: прийти / приходить
у-→to leave: уйти / уходить

One prefix = one direction
By adding a prefix to идти/ходить (or ехать/ездить), you specify the direction. A prefix on the determinate verb (идти) gives a perfective; on the indeterminate (ходить), an imperfective.
