Asking and giving the time

To ask the time, you say Кото́рый час ? or Ско́лько вре́мени ? ("how much time?"). The answer uses the word час (hour), which takes three forms depending on the number — like "год" and "рубль".

Сейча́с час. (It is 1 o’clock — you can omit "оди́н")

Сейча́с два ча́са. (It is 2 o’clock.)

Tourist: Excuse me, what time is it? — Passer-by: It is half past two (literally "half of the third hour"). That is, two thirty. — Tourist: Thank you very much! — Passer-by: You are welcome.

At what time? "В + hour in the accusative"

To indicate the time of an event ("at 3 o’clock"), you use the preposition В + the hour in the accusative. For whole hours in Russian, the accusative is identical to the nominative — it is simple.
